Current Income Tax Limit of Rs.1,60,000 should be increased. Pranav Babu should honestly reply my simple question that " can a middle class family with 2 kids afford to survive with yearly income of Rs. 1,60,000'- ?". Higher income people should honestly pay taxes to government.

No., Prices are at peak. Difficult to survive for common - middle class person. No concrete steps taken to bring down prices. Speculation on food grains must be stopped. Conveyance Allowance is tax free upto Rs.800 per month since more than 10 years. Petrol prices have increased from 26 to 50 (+) i.e. almost doubled but no relief given . Hence expense increased for service class people. On the contrary busincess men and companies are allowed 100% exp.deduction of petrol / Diesel and Maint. exps of vehicles they owned as business exps.

I agree with Mr.Mukesh and other readers. Review and Revision of Conveyance Allowance is must. additionally government and pranavbabu shall also think to relax LTC system. Salaried people have no option to hide the income and business men and/or industrialists can do!!!??

I agree with the views expressed by fellow readers. Condition of middle class is certainly becoming worse. The only deduction available for salaried persons is investment which are for a minimum period of three years. What about the day to day expenses?? Standard deduction should have been reintroduced. Present taxations principles will only increse the gap between rich and the poor.

it is a good encouraging budget it is right time increase price on fuel because has enough money to spend on that becuase people is making money If not so why buy cars if not effordable & poor do not buy car or bikes arguing about the price rise in the commoditeis is still going up without rising price of fuel

IT IS OVERALL A GOOD BUDGET UNDER THE GIVEN CIRCUMSTANCES. OPPOSITION SHOULD LEARN TO APPRECIATE GOOD THINGS FROM RULING PARTY IN THE INTEREST OF DEMOCRACY.OUR OPPOSITION PARTIES JUST OPPOSE THINGS FOR THE SAKE OF OPPOSING. CONGRESS IS NO EXCEPTION IN THIS. I WOULD LIKE TO COMMENT ON HIKE IN PETROL PRICES. THERE IS NO CHOICE FOR GOVT. EXCEPT TO INCREASE. BUT IT IS HIGH TIME TO RECONSIDER OUR TRANSPORT POLICY. WE NEITHER HAVE ROADS, NOR ENOUGH FUEL NOR EXCESSIVE FOREIGN EXCHANGE. WHY ARE WE NOT DEVELOPING PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM? I AM SURE IF THERE IS EFFICIENT/SAFE PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM COVERING ALL AREAS OF A VILLAGE/TOWN/CITY 70% OF PEOPLE WOULD NOT KEEP OWN VEHICLE AND USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT. THIS WILL ALSO SOLVE HUGE PROBLEM OF ACCIDENTS/POLLUTION & MANY OTHER ISSUES.I DONOT THINK THIS WILL CREATE PROBLEM OF UNEMPLOYMENT AS AUTOMOBILE EMPLOYEES WILL BE ABSORBED BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM. IT IS HIGH TIME TO THINK ON THIS LINE.

Yes, you are right. Good public transporation is required like Metro rail system. We can not stop hike in crude price but only thing we can do is reduce our crude consumption by making public transportation. Like Dubai metro rail.

This budget is not for poor public. Govt is nothing doing for poor majority. because govt stomach are full they dont know poor problems. this govt dont want poor people they only favour rich.

They never pay attention on poor public. Rich public make more money. They have to contrel the price.First they control food price.

Budget was good...no doubt about it. But they have not increase base limit of 160000 Rs. Majority poor tax payers are in this range. Pranav babu should increase this base limit upto 2,50,000 lac to give some relief to small tax payers. Aaam Admi have no benefit with this budget. Also above that fuel price hike is additional burden to them. When fuel price increase the prices of all transportation system increases and due to this price of all comodities will increase.
